Frequently Asked Questions - SEO

If you have a question that is not answered on this page, please contact us.

Where should I begin?

If you think you might need search engine optimization (SEO) services, but you're not familiar with the goal and process of SEO, then you may wish to read our service description.

What kind of results can I expect?

We cannot make predictions about search engine ranking because there are too many factors beyond our control. It's much like working with a stock broker in this regard. A stock broker will do everything within his or her professional ability to increase your earnings, but the broker still cannot guarantee results. It's unethical and impossible to do so.

With that said, we can offer you this assurance. We have improved the visibility, search engine ranking, and search traffic of every website we've ever worked on. All of our client websites make it onto the first page of search engine results eventually, for key phrases relevant to their business. How long the process takes varies based on several factors (see next question).

How long does SEO take?

This is another question that's hard to answer, mainly because there are so many variables at work. Results will vary depending on the age of your website, the competitiveness of your key phrases and market area, and other factors.

We have worked with older websites and attained measurable results in a matter of weeks. We have also worked on brand new websites that took months to gain high-level visibility. With that being said, we can expedite the search engine ranking process by as much as tenfold (compared to doing no SEO at all).

How do you measure your success?

The goal of real estate SEO is to improve your website's search engine ranking for key phrases related to your real estate business. This will in turn increase the amount of qualified web traffic you receive. So we measure our SEO success by the following metrics: (A) improved search engine ranking for key phrases, (B) visibility for a broader range of search phrases, and (C) an increased level of website traffic.

You'll notice that lead generation was not mentioned above. That's because the primary goal of SEO is not lead generation, but traffic generation. Real estate SEO can certainly increase the amount of qualified traffic to your website, but you still have to do something to capitalize on that traffic. That's the lead generation side of things.

We stress this because a lot of unscrupulous marketing firms will tell you that SEO is the path to Internet leads. In truth, SEO is only part of the path — it can get people to your website, but you still have to focus on lead generation and website conversion. With that being said, we will gladly offer whatever lead generation advice we can provide. It's just not part of our SEO focus.

What are your other SEO credentials?

Brandon is the author of several e-books on the subject of search engine optimization. He has years of experience in this field and is one of the most widely published authors on topics relating to Internet marketing. For more information, please see the SEO credentials page.

Another testament to our SEO skill is the fact that we do no outbound marketing or advertising whatsoever — all of our clients find us through the search engines, which is what you would (or should) expect from a competent SEO firm.
