Anchor text refers to the text within a hyperlink. For example, in the sentence below, the phrase "SEO training" is my anchor text.

Anchor text is important to search engines optimization, because most search engines pay a lot of attention to the words and phrases found within hyperlinks. This is true of the internal links found within your website and the external links pointing to your website from other domains.
