Real Estate Marketing ... After the Sale

I came back to my office after lunch yesterday and found a small package waiting for me. I looked at the label and saw it was from EzineArticles.com, an article distribution site where I send a lot of material.

Inside the box was a thank-you note, some mints, and a jumbo-sized mug with the EzineArticles.com logo on it.

Did they have to do this?
Of course not.

Why did they do this?
Because they did not have to.

What's the result of doing this?
It stands out in my mind, because they did not have to do it.

What are the extended results?
I'm blogging about it, giving them free publicity, and probably sending some new users their way. All because of a mug? No ... all because they took the time to send me a mug when they did not have to.

Now switch gears to real estate marketing. What can you do to pleasantly surprise your clients after the sale? How might that affect your business? Something to think about.

In the Works - Real Estate PR Center

I'm excited to announce that I have a new section of the AYF website in development. I call it the real estate PR center, and it offers a wealth of free advice on public relations for the modern real estate agent.

What it will include:

* How to write and publish a real estate press release
* How to become a trusted media source
* How to conduct and promote a seminar
* How to create a fact sheet
* How to publish articles for PR purposes
* Plus links to a variety of PR tools and resources

Does that make you as excited as I am? I hope so, because it's going to be a helpful resource ... I promise you that much.

I'll make another blog post when it's up and running on the site. I'll also send a notification to the newsletter list.

Until then...

-Brandon

Real Estate Marketing for New Agents

Are you a new agent in search of real estate marketing advice? If so, you've come to the right place.

ArmingYourFarming.com has always had plenty of marketing advice on site. But I've recently completed Phase 1 of a learning center specifically for new agents. It walks you through the process of creating a marketing plan, deciding what forms of marketing to use, and executing the plan.

There's also an "Ask a Question" button under each topic so you can do just that -- ask a question for further information!

Real Estate Marketing Idea - Boost Your PR Presence

What is PR and what does it have to do with real estate marketing?

PR, or public relations, refers to a variety of techniques and practices intended to generate publicity and awareness.

In short, a PR program is designed to get people talking and writing about your real estate services.

Forgotten Tool of Real Estate Marketers?
Agents and brokers have used direct marketing tactics for decades. A farming postcard or letter is direct marketing in its purest form. It's my experience, however, that real estate professionals don't use PR effectively, if at all.

A strong PR program can give real estate agents more exposure than traditional advertising, and for a fraction of the cost. So it's always a good idea to add some element of PR to your marketing mix.

Here's some advice on how to go about it:

Real Estate PR - Building Your Reputation with Articles

Purpose of this real estate PR article:
To educate you on the power of article marketing. To explain what article marketing can do for your real estate marketing efforts in general (and your public relations program in particular).

Imagine this scenario...
Let's say you're reading the newspaper. You see an article on the top half of the page, and an advertisement on the bottom of the page. Which one would you be more inclined to trust and believe?

Probably the article, right? Well, you're not alone. Articles and other editorial-style content carry a certain trustworthiness that advertisements lack.

When people see articles (in print or online), they know those articles have been through some kind of screening process. When people see ads, they know the advertiser has paid has ad fees -- and nothing more.

Real Estate PR - Forgotten Tool of Real Estate Marketing

Real estate PR is the act of using traditional public relations (PR) strategies to support a real estate marketing program.

It's also the forgotten tool of real estate marketing.

What do I mean by forgotten tool?
Simply that many agents overlook PR, despite its effectiveness and affordability. This is an unfortunate, because real estate PR carries many business-building benefits.

As an agent, you should seek "message diversity" in your real estate marketing program. In other words, instead of having only one marketing channel -- like direct mail -- you should develop multiple channels (to attract the multiple personality types that make up your audience).
