Real Estate Letters - Writing Tips for Agents

Writing a great real estate letter doesn't have to be hard. In fact, if it is hard, you're probably going about it all wrong.

The best business letters are written in the author's natural tone, and you natural tone is the easiest thing in the world to deliver. So when writing your next real estate letter, let yourself go. Turn off your internal editor, forget about your high school English teacher, and write as if you were speaking to a friend.

Some more letter-writing tips:

1. Do the proper research and know what you want to say.

2. Try to see things from the recipient's perspective. What questions would you have?

3. Explain why you're writing in the opening paragraph. Get right to the point.

4. Be specific. If you're writing a letter to an FSBO, for example, tell them how quickly you've sold houses in the past.

5. Read this article on real estate letters.

Real Estate Marketing Idea - Boost Your PR Presence

What is PR and what does it have to do with real estate marketing?

PR, or public relations, refers to a variety of techniques and practices intended to generate publicity and awareness.

In short, a PR program is designed to get people talking and writing about your real estate services.

Forgotten Tool of Real Estate Marketers?
Agents and brokers have used direct marketing tactics for decades. A farming postcard or letter is direct marketing in its purest form. It's my experience, however, that real estate professionals don't use PR effectively, if at all.

A strong PR program can give real estate agents more exposure than traditional advertising, and for a fraction of the cost. So it's always a good idea to add some element of PR to your marketing mix.

Here's some advice on how to go about it:
